Make Skateboarding Community

We make our community strong and confident!

Make Skateboarding Community, founded in 2023 empowers kids and youth through the power of skateboarding, fostering a confident and resilient community that can grow and thrive. We are based in Kibagare Slum Community, Westlands, Nairobi - Kenya, and committed to providing a safe space for community kids and youth to skate, learn and grow. We give free skateboarding sessions to Kibagare kids, provide skateboards and equipment, and cover membership fees. Have a look at different ways to get involved with Make SB!

Our Projects and Initiatives

Skateboarding forms a common language regardless of social background, ethnicity, religion, culture, gender and more. Make Skateboarding Community is open to new ideas and collaborations that better and influence the Kibagare Community skateboarding scene and Skateboarding ecosystem in Kenya.
These are some of our projects:

Skateboarding Sessions

The aim of this project is to give both boys and girls from Kibagare Slum free skateboarding sessions, and provision of skateboards and protective equipment.

Skateboarding and Mental Health

We tend to use skateboarding intentionally and skillfully as an alternative treatment model for people that have been victims of trauma, addiction, abuse, and those with mental health challenges.

Workshops and Activities

We organize workshops and activities that help kids and youth learn social skills and develop relationships while breaking down barriers. Welcome to our skateboarding competitions!

Get Involved and all we shape the future of skateboarding in Kenya

WE OUTSIDE!

A lot of people say Skateboarding saved them. It has been their escape from issues and problems considering the way it's so relaxing and engaging. When you skate you feel free, feel in control and this means having control of your life, challenges, addictions, mastering failure and much more. It's not about how you fall, it's about how you pick yourself up and continue.
